The middle of the year already – WOW !!!!!!!

We have been working hard and many long hours at the school, all of the hard work should soon pay off. The big building is almost complete! In the picture below you can see that the floor is being put in (80 bags of cement) and all by hand. That made for a long day – 12 hours actually.

Probably next month I should have some pictures of the building when it is completed.

It still needs the doors – they will be installed soon, Lord willing.

It will be a great blessing to the school – Praise the Lord!!

Actually, everyone is not working so hard – the children had a wonderful day yesterday (21st) for – dia de Limpera – Limpera Day, he was kind of an equal to George Washington for Honduras, except that he didn’t become the president because he was killed before they could select him.

Below is a picture of the two children who won the contest for best dressed or nearest to what the original Indians would have worn. As you can see, the boy is pretty excited!

I met Alex a few weeks ago; he was hired to do the electrical work for the installation of the lights and wiring the building, as well as wires from the poles to the building.

He was selected because – well truthfully, I think for two reasons. One, because I was looking for someone with a lot of experience and he worked in the states for many years and secondly,

I believe that the Lord chose him, let me explain.

I was in the ferreteria (hardware store) last month buying some items and I asked the manager if he knew of someone who did electrical work. He mentioned Alex, then I went back a couple of days later to get some things and was going to ask the manager again about Alex, however this time I prayed before going into the store. While I was getting some items the manager told me that Alex was there. So we talked and he was hired.

I guess I said all of that to say this >

Alex did not know the Lord as his Lord and Savior; he has a family here and one in the states.

This is very typical for people who leave Latin American counties and go the states for work.

Without going into it very much I will say that I have spoken to him about it and especially about Jesus. At first, he was as most non-Christian men are here and maybe everywhere, talking about women. Although the conversation quickly changed when I told him I was a Christian, we still discussed his past to some extent.

Time pasted as he worked and I spoke about Jesus to him.

Then the other day, he said that he wanted to know more about Jesus and wanted to know where he could go to church. Praise the Lord! Blessed Lord – that is so wonderful.

Bless you precious Lord Jesus for giving me the opportunity to speak with Alex about You.

Noelia

Such a precious child – please pray for her.

Although she smiles a lot, she is also hurting inside, especially from her past. She has been taken away from that, however she doesn’t seem to fit in or make friends easily and some of the girls at the orphanage have been very mean to her.

Fanny, who also lives at the orphanage, is sitting behind or beside Noelia in the picture below, Fanny’s sister is the other person with the tortilla. Fanny’s sister is also the little girl in the photo above – the winner of the contest.

I believe with all my heart something good is going to happen to Noelia, I believe that is why I met her and why she was removed from the abusive lifestyle that she was in.

Oh, I just remembered. Dori was telling me today that the last time that Noelia was here visiting us that they spoke about where she was born. She didn’t even know.

She also didn’t know when her birthday was – pretty sad I think.

Appalling might be a better word, to grow up and don’t even know when your birthday is because no one ever celebrated it and didn’t even have the dignity to tell her when or where she was born. Just work and be a slave to the adults in her life.

I better be silent before I mention the real cruelty that she had to go through.

One of my workers, Wilmer, who I have mentioned in the past; I don’t know if you remember the name, however he was witnessed to by Antonio and accepted Jesus. I told the story in a previous newsletter, I also hired him because he accepted Jesus, and I wanted him to know that Jesus loves him and would take care of him. Since then he has been of fire for the Lord.

He has been studying and learning all that he can. Teaching in the church and assisting his pastor in many ways. A couple of days ago Antonio mentioned to me that he will be moving, he will still work with us, he will however not live in La Ceiba, he will be in a small village about an hour from La Ceiba. A small church in that village (probably the only church) wants him to be their pastor, the other pastor left and it is very hard to find someone who will take a job in a small village. Wilmer has accepted the position and I think that the Lord will bless him for it. Praise God for people who will give their all to JESUS!

Life can be tough – I know – however there is always a light at the end of the tunnel and

His Name is Jesus!!

Prayer requests >

For Alex to stay grounded and not waver

For Noelia

For more people to accept Jesus as Lord and Savior

For Wilmer – Lord bless him

bless us Lord Jesus
